Tell us how you met?

On the evening of the 28th of February 2019 following a long and tiring business meeting with a friend we decided to go unwind at a restaurant in Cape Town CBD. On the dance floor of the restaurant he instantly spotted me and as awkward as that was, after a dance, he then hugged me so warm and tight and in that moment I immediately knew I belonged in those arms. Two dances later he boldly declared I was to be his beloved wife. I couldn’t believe what was happening for a second as I was overwhelmed with warmth and love and so we exchanged numbers. A week later after returning from a family trip out of town, we started meeting and a month later he asked me out and since then, we still are!

Tell us about the proposal?

Seated in front of a warm fire and dazzling ambience, having lunch at a restaurant in Franschhoek, very hungry and awaiting our starter course meal, my tummy was suddenly filled with butterflies and an overwhelming feeling of joy as he asked me to make him the happiest and fullest man in that restaurant and marry him. I could not let my man starve and certainly did not want to let go of my churning butterflies and at that very moment, I said yes! We still have to go back to that restaurant and taste their full course meals as we left never having eaten but filled with each others love that still fills us to this day.

Tell us about your engagement ring?

My fiance never wanted to buy a ring by himself, not being sure if he is making the right choice that I would love. He then suggested that I choose and design my own ring! We came across Grand Diamonds and were helped by Derrick, a connoisseur in his own rights in the field of diamonds. My partner and I had decided on the final ring design discussed with him and he and his team designed and gifted us with a masterpiece lifetime expression of our love. From that day we walked out of the jeweller we have had to keep our sunglasses on because the ring reflected brilliantly and excellently as it is cut, the bright future ahead of us in our union.

Any advice to other couples looking to get engaged?

Let God lead you in your steps to finding your one and let Him be the center of your love. Marry your best friend and do not delay when you feel in your heart your partner is the one. Do not fear the unknown! Enjoy life, remembering it is too short and certainly too dull to go through without a grand diamond!
